Five death row convicts were sent to the gallows in different jails of Punjab early Wednesday morning.
Three death row convicts were executed in District Jail Gujrat. Salman and Shafeeq were hanged for killing Nasir Mahmood after abduction in 1998 while prisoner Younus was executed for murdering Ghulam Hussain in 2002.
Death row convict Rana Aslam was hanged in District Jail Dera Ghazi Khan. Aslam had killed his wife in 1996.
Death row convict Ghulam Mustafa was executed in Central Jail Faisalabad. Ghulam Mustafa had committed a murder in 2001.
