Ban imposed on carrying weapons, pillion riding

The Sindh Home Department has imposed complete ban on display/brandishing and carrying of weapons in the province of Sindh with immediate effect till December 31, 2015.

According to release, the ban will not apply on security forces, law enforcing agencies (LEA) and all security guards of private companies. However, police and personnel of other law enforcing agencies – Rangers, Frontier Constabulary Forces and all security guards of private companies would not display/carry weapons when in civvies/ordinary dresses.

Meanwhile, the department has also imposed a ban on pillion riding of motorcycles/scooter in Karachi division with effect from 8th to 10th Muharramul Harram, 1437 AH (2015). The ban will, however, not apply on the women, children below the age of 12 years, senior citizens, disabled persons, journalists, and personnel of law enforcement agencies, security guards of all private companies in uniform and employees of essential services.

The SHOs of the concerned police station have been authorised to register complaints in writing for the violation of Section 144 CrPC against violators of the order.
