Accute water shortage as Load shedding rises to 18 hours a day

Eighteen hours a day unscheduled load shedding in Attock and the nearby localities has made the life of residents miserable, as people are facing extreme shortage of water.

Load shedding made the life miserable and people are unable to perform their daily routine life activities, locals told this news agency.

According to details the 18 hours load shedding in Attock, Sanjwal and adjoining localities has become a routine, people are facing acute water shortage as the tubewells run on electricity have been rendered non operational. . Even in ‘Mosques’ a lot of trouble is being faced by the ‘Namazis’. People don’t have even drop of water to drink and women in villages had to go to far off places to fetch drinking waters from wells.

On the other hand people are angry over high electricity bills despite of 18 hours load shedding. They have strongly criticized Govt saying it came to power on the promise of doing away with load shedding but their miseries are on the increase instead of providing relief. They said the government is claiming to end the load shedding by 2018, the time of next elections, but questioned how it would be possible when the duration of load shedding is going up.
