A Taliban ‘suicide bomber’ has struck a convoy of British troops Sunday morning leaving seven wounded.

The terrorist is said to have rammed his car into a UK military vehicle on patrol in the capital, Kabul, flipping it 90 degrees on its side.

A woman and a child are believed to have been among those hurt. But no Brits were hurt in the attack, aimed at targeting foreign troops, near a residential market at around 9am.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the bombing, said to be revenge for botched US airstrikes on a hospital in Kunduz, northern Afghanistan, killing 22 innocent people eight days ago.

It comes as the Pentagon has pledged to make “condolence payments” to families of the victims and cough up for building repairs. But there are conflicting reports about what actually happened this morning.

Cops in Kabul said it was a suicide bombing, while the Ministry of Defence told that  it was an “improvised explosive device”. Kabul’s Police Chief General Abdul Rahman Rahimi, said: “A suicide bomber driving a Corolla car hit an armoured vehicle belonging to the foreign forces and exploded. “As a result of the blast the armoured vehicle was partly damaged.
