Candidates, party leaders visit polling stations

All candidates of NA-122 and PP-147 kept visiting polling stations on Sunday.

PML-N backed candidates Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Mohsin Latif polled their votes soon after polling started and visited different polling stations, along with party workers.

Lahore PML-N President, MNA Pervaiz Malik, and Special Assistant to PM Dr Asif Kirmani were seen among the public.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Abdul Aleem Khan, Punjab Organiser Muhammad Sarwar, along with PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen and Mian Aslam Iqbal also visited different polling stations in NA-122, while Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed and Punjab PTI President Ejaz Chaudhry also reviewed the polling process in the city.

Smooth polling continued at all 284 polling stations without any breaks. Workers from both the parties chanted slogans against each other but the overall situation remained under control.

Speaking to reporters, Ayaz Sadiq said there was no tension and the atmosphere was like an Eid day.

He said the PML-N had directed workers not to get involved in any sort of scuffle.

On the other hand, Lahore DCO Capt (r) Muhammad Usman and DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf also visited the constituency to review security arrangements for the voters.
