26 suspects held, weapons and narcotics seized

Islamabad police along with Pak Rangers conducted search operation in Noon, Sabzi Mandi as well as their adjacent areas and nabbed 26 suspects, a police spokesman said.

These measures are being taken to ensure high vigilance and foolproof security in Muharram-ul-Haram and to keep vigilant eye on the suspected elements.

Following the directions of Inspector General of Police, Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan, SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has prepared a comprehensive plan of searching and combing in the city. According to this plan, search operation has been initiated and the police are conducting checks at slum areas, inns, hotels, restaurants and Afghan habitats.

During this search operation, two motorbikes, one 7mm gun, four 12bore guns, one SMG, eight pistols of different bores, 573 bullets, two magazines and 458 gram narcotics were also recovered .

SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has said that search operation would continue in coming days and complete combing would be made of sensitive areas, the spokesman maintained.
