Voters and supporters lingering after polls closed in Lahore on Sunday are becoming increasingly antsy, local media reports.

A member of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) was beaten and reportedly suffered a head wound after a run in with Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) workers caused a fight to break out.

Similar “clashes” have been reported all day by local media, and allegations including those regarding inoperative CCTV cameras at poll booths and misuse of government vehicles have been aired by various channels.

At the same time, enthusiasm and energy has remianed high. Supporters have brought their children to their rallies, a “Chacha PTI” spoke to media saying he wanted to reassure people that there were “good Gullu Butts”, and one enthusiast dressed up as a groom to dance in support of his candidates.

At last count, the PML-N candidate Ayaz Sadiq was in the lead with  4715 votes while PTI was about a thousand points behind in the polls.
