Director General of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, Major Genera Bilal Akbar on Thursday met Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and conveyed his reservations regarding advertisement against paramilitary force by police in local dailies.

The chief minister assured the DG Rangers that impartial inquiry would be conducted into the issue and action would be taken against the culprits found involved. Shah said a conspiracy was being hatched to create misunderstandings between police and Rangers.

A row erupted between police and Rangers after police issued advertisements in local newspapers seeking public assistance in tracing of at least six missing persons allegedly picked up by “unknown Rangers” from Orangi Town.

The meeting also discussed ongoing operation against criminal elements in Karachi and overall security situation in Sindh.

Earlier, the chief minister also chaired a security meeting where the home secretary and inspector general of police gave briefing to the attendees. The DG Rangers, home minister, information minister and additional IG were also present in the meeting.
