Ayyan Ali’s indictment adjourned due to lawyer’s absence

Super model Ayyan Ali on Thursday could not be indicted in currency smuggling case once again as counsel Latif Khosa did not appear before the court.

Customs court judge Rana Aftab Ahmed said that roughly ten court hearings were scheduled for indictment but somehow the process is delayed.
As the hearing was initiated, the judge asked Ali’s junior counsel to ask Latif Khosa about any objection in the matter as she would be indicted today. Upon which Rai Mudassar said that complete challan of others nominated in the case has not been filed yet.

The judge said that he could not work on disposal of customs officials. Ali’s challan has been filed which declares her responsible for the crime, he added. The judge then asked Mudassar to present arguments against her indictment.

Customs officials said that a complete challan has been filed against Ali. They urged the court to indict her today without any further delay.

However, the junior counsel requested the court to adjourn the hearing as Khosa could not appear today.

The judge gave next hearing date for indictment and called the parties on October 15.
