CPEC will create new job opportunities for youth: president

President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday urged all strata of society to reject any obstacle in the way of completion of mega development projects launched by the present government.

Addressing the members of parliament of Balochistan in Quetta, he said that these projects did not belong to any particular group or party but would serve the entire country.

Referring to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the president said this would generate economic activity in the country and create hundreds of thousands of new job opportunities for the youth.

He said that CPEC envisaged several projects of motorways and energy generation as well as development of the port and an international airport at Gwadar.

Referring to Zarb-e-Azb operation, the president said the operation against terrorists was heading towards conclusion while Karachi operation was also showing positive results.

President Mamnoon Hussain also held a meeting with Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai at Governor House in Quetta.

They discussed matters pertaining to development of the province with particular focus on the development of Gwadar port.

Earlier, as the president arrived on a two day visit to Quetta, he was received by Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, provincial ministers and other government officials.

During the two day visit, the president will meet various delegations including parliamentarians and journalists in Quetta.
