Still waiting on that apology, Gilani tells NAB

Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said that he has served jail term for as many as 10 years and he is still waiting for the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) apology.

He expressed these views while talking to the media persons at a prayer gathering on the third day of his nephew Asad Murtaza Gilani’s death, who was martyred in the Mina tragedy.

Gilani said that NAB has been after him in the past and is after him now; however, he is waiting for the department to come up with an official apology. The former PM said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is leaving constituencies vacant in the local body (LB) polls so that independent candidates will join the party after they win.

While answering a question about the LB polls, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is party chair and not a card that could be played on a table.

He further said that the extension in the tenure of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif depends on PM Nawaz.
