Polling underway in Attock’s PP-16

Polling for by-polls in Punjab Assembly constituency PP-16-Attock has started under tight security arrangements.

The polling began at 8am and will continue until 5pm without any pause.

The seat fell vacant after Punjab home minister Shuja Khanzada was martyred in a suicide bomb attack in Attock on August 16.

Shuja Khanzada’s son and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Jahangir Khanzada and independent candidate Dr Naeem Awan are contesting for by-polls in PP-16 constituency.

According to local media, a total number of 137 polling stations have been established in the constituency for today’s election out of which 36 have been declared sensitive.

Polling is being held under the supervision of army and Rangers.
