In line with the directives of the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, 36 employees of the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) appointed under Safe City Project were suspended on Tuesday; however, Inspector General Police (IGP) Tahir Alam’s son Hamad Alam managed to get a stay order from court against his suspension.
Taking action against news published in a section of press regarding the appointment of IG Tahir Alam’s son in NADRA on a Grade 17 post, along with 36 others, Nisar directed to suspend all 37 persons whose services were acquired in the name of Safe City Project. The appointments had bypassed all rules and regulations.
The notification in this regard was prepared on October 01, 2015, but NADRA authorities intentionally delayed its issuance till late on October 05 (Monday), providing an opportunity to Hamad Alam to get a stay order from court against the decision of his suspension.
Reliable sources said that certain elements in NADRA were making all out efforts to save IG Tahir Alam’s son from being suspend. They were also making changes in the record of his appointment, as Hamad Alam was not even qualified in the interview held for the post.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar taking strict notice of the illegal appointment had directed to suspend the project director, besides seeking an explanation from him on the matter within three days but despite the passage of six days, the project director has not appeared before the interior minister to apprise him about the appointments.
