Teachers’ role in development of country can’t be denied: Ahsan Iqbal

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal and ex-MNA Mian Muhammad Aslam have said that the role of teachers is of due importance in the national development and those who have deep respect for teachers remained successful.

They expressed these views while addressing the closing session of World Teachers’ Day Walk on Monday from China Chowk to D Chowk, organised by the AFAQ and Ghazali Education Trust.

Ahsan Iqbal said that “we are focus to achieve the target of literacy and quality education in the vision 2015. The government is working to encourage the teachers through incentives. We are working to facilitate the teachers and resolve their problems”.

Aslam said that the teachers consume most of their lifetime to mend the soul of the students and those who respect teachers, have a prominent position in society and lead a successful life. The speakers stressed on resolving the problems of the teachers and emphasised on to return their status back coupled with the steps taken on serious notes.

The students from the different educational institutions of Rawalpindi/Islamabad along with the people from different walks of life participated in the walk.

Students presented bouquets and gifts to the teachers on playing their role in the upbringing of their personality. On the occasion, a great number of students, teacher’s civil society and political leaders were also present for the recognition of their efforts.
