Five-hour long negotiations between the government and Pakistan Air Line Pilots Association (PALPA) on Sunday ended without a breakthrough and the deadlock persists.

Spokesperson of Civil Aviation however said the talks were successful and a breakthrough is expected on Monday (today).

Talking to reporters after the talks, PALPA President Aamir Hashmi said that one pilot works for two pilots and the pilots are not even trained for long flights. He said that PALPA talked only on working agreement. He said that future roadmap will be announced if the government doesn’t agree to demands.

On the other hand, Civil Aviation spokesperson Sher Ali Khan said that the talks with PALPA were successful. “PALPA understood our opinion; a breakthrough is expected tomorrow,” said Khan. He said that the government wants to resolve the crisis in a fair manner.
