Ziad Bashir appointed new honorary consul general of Denmark

The government of Denmark has appointed leading businessman and entrepreneur Ziad Bashir as their new honorary consul general in Karachi.

According to a press release, this announcement was made at a special reception held on Saturday with government officials, businessmen, diplomats and media representatives in attendance.

Helle Nielsen, Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy of Denmark, welcomed Bashir in his new role and highlighted that the embassy had within a few years grown from being a small embassy dealing with visa and consular affairs to an embassy, which was fully engaged in multiple areas of cooperation such as trade, development, defence and stabilization, consular affairs and also public diplomacy.

Bashir thanked the Danish government for offering him the opportunity to represent Denmark in Karachi, saying it was an honor and privilege to be given an opportunity to represent Denmark in Karachi.

He said, “In today’s challenging global environment building bridges and helping nations collaborate is the need of the hour. And I look forward to playing my role in trying to partner the best talent from both countries together.”
