12 outlaws held, weapons seized

Islamabad police have arrested 12 outlaws during high vigilance in the city and recovered narcotics, mobile phone and weapons as well as stolen valuables from their possession, a police spokesman said.

According to details, Koral police recovered one 30 bore illegal pistols along with ammunition from the possession of arrested accuse Qamar. ACLC police arrested an Afghan national, Shah Wali and recovered one 30 bore unlawful pistol along with ammunition.

Industrial –Area police recovered stone valuables. Sihala police arrested a drug pusher namely Muhammad Younas and recovered 1.700 kilogram hashish from him.

Police also arrested four people; Sani Iqbal, Waqas, Ibrar and Khalid Mehmood involved in illegally diesel and gas filling. Sabzi Mandi police arrested accused Muhammad Pervez recovering mobile phone from him.

Cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.

SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has said the purpose of this vigilance is to ensure foolproof security in the city and he further directed all SHOs to continue it. He has also appealed the citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them.

Meanwhile, Islamabad police have arrested three car snatchers during high vigilance in the city, a police spokesman said.

According to details, SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas constituted special team following directions from senior police officials to nab those involved in car snatching and lifting.

This team of anti-car lifting cell (ACLC) headed by Inspector Abdul Sattar Shah successfully arrested two car lifters Ashfaq Ahmed, Mirza Shahid and recovered snatched vehicle (VC-161) from them while their third accomplice, Shah Wali, resident of Afghanistan, was later arrested in possession of weapon and ammunition.

They confessed to snatch vehicles at gun point and later used to sell them in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Further investigation is underway and police is hopeful for more recovery.
