In the face of reports of an impending divorce, Imran Khan seems to be sticking to his line of all-OK. The damage-control Eid programmes of him and his wife strolling about might have allayed the fears of the most devoted of fans but by now those even tangentially in the know have come to believe perhaps all is not well.
The national bhabhi, who was seen a lot in the tussle for Azizabad’s seat in Karachi and the Haripur seat in KP, is nowhere to be seen in the battle royale that NA-122 is set to become. Dubbed as the Waterloo of the by-polls, a lot is riding on this particular election. But wives in Naya Pakistan are to be seen occasionally and not heard. Much like wives in Purana Pakistan.

The Chinese have established a set-up in Lahore. Speaking at the inauguration, the Chinese head honcho was all praise (yeah, but he’s a diplomat) for Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He said that the chief minister was extremely popular in China due to his famous work ethic – again, he’s a diplomat.
One hopes the CM doesn’t let this get to his head and thinks Punjab is too small for him.
