24 post offices of Rawalpindi city, Cantt merged

 

The Pakistan Post has merged 24 post offices of the Rawalpindi city and the Cantt due to security reasons as police have excused from providing security to them.

An official said that the number of post offices has been reduced from 80 to 56 in the Rawalpindi city and 24 post offices have been merged with central post offices or those post offices located in safe areas.

The Pakistan Post North Punjab circle has issued notification in this regard.

As per the notification, Sir Syed Colony post office has been merged with Dr Aziz Mehmood Road post office, Dhok Khabba post office with Express Office on Murree Road, Sadiqabad and A-Block post offices with Muslim Town post office, Jhanda Chichi post office with district courts post office, Gharibabad and Gulrez post offices with Secheme-3 Commercial Market post office, Dheri Hassan Abdal with Lal Kurti post office while Kalma Chowk, Dhok Syeda and Chak Jalal Din have been merged and will be shifted to a new building on Kamalabad Road. The Pindora post office has been merged with F-Block New Katarian post office, Khiaban-e-Sir Syed  and Dhok Hassu post offices with Pirwadhai post office and Dhok Kala Khan post office has been merged with Faizabad post office.
