Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has approved funds for completion of construction work on two degree colleges in Dhok Syedan.
The work on the Government Degree College for Boys and the Government College for Girls Dhok Syedan Rawalpindi was started in 2007 but the work could not be completed despite a lapse of eight years.
About Rs42 million was spent initially but later the work was suspended. The incomplete buildings have turned into dens of addicted persons and gamblers.
The CM after taking notice of the state of affairs in terms of the construction work approved funds and the work will be started within a month’s time.
Thousands of girls and boys from NA 52 and NA-54 will benefit from these colleges after classes are started in the two colleges.
