Xinjiang acrobats give thrilling performance to mark Chinese National Day

A group of acrobats from Xinjiang autonomous region gave here on Wednesday a thrilling performance to mark China’s National Day (66th Anniversary).

The acrobatic show was co-hosted by the Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong and Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal. The performance was given to a jam-packed hall at the National council of the Arts.

The artists enthralled the local Pakistani audience by their magic performance that included songs, dances and marshal art. They were given thunderous applause by the audience for their exciting artistic presentation.

Chinese ambassador in his brief remarks on the occasion said that the cultural show was reflection of the warmest love and affection of the Chinese people with their Pakistani brothers and sisters. This, he added is also a part of their efforts to further strengthening people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

Sino-Pak friendship, Sun said has entered into a new era of socio-economic partnership with the launching of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He thanked the government of Pakistan and the Minister for Planning for pushing forward the project for its early implementation. The Chinese government, he said is prepared to work with Pakistan bringing its fruits to the people.

About the performance, he said it presents unique and rich culture of Xinjiang region. He hoped such shows will help the local people to understand the Chinese culture, which plays a key role in deepening this relationship. The frequent interaction taking place in the recent years between the two sides at various levels will give boost to their iron and time-tested friendship, he added.

Ahsan Iqbal said are proud of their friendship with China. Referring to economic corridor project, he said China has proved itself a true friend of Pakistan by taking part in its development in a big way. People of Pakistan will enjoy the fruits of this gigantic project.
