Quaid-e-Azam’s speech to Pakistan’s first Constituent Assembly on 11th August 1947 containing his vision is to be made part of the basic structure of the Constitution of Pakistan through the 22nd amendment in the Constitution National Democratic Foundation (NDF) proposed.
Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, Chairman, National Democratic Foundation (NDF) stated that it is also relevant to mention that some constitutional experts and analysts have vested interests and gained political benefits by distortion of constitutional provisions as per their will and political designs. This is the basic objective behind this argument of Quaid-e-Azams speech that the status of liberal and democratic be adopted as the country’s road map for the future.
He further said that in the light of the Quaid-e-Azam’s vision it’s never too late to incorporate in the basic structure of the Constitution. It would largely contribute in the promotion of libertarianism values, tolerance and Pakistan Political Ideologies and bring forward Pakistan’s Constitution in pine with the democratic structures prevailing in the developed nations of the Globe.
National Democratic Foundation (NDF) has also forwarded reference in the same regard to Chairman Senate, Speaker National Assembly, Chief Election Commissioner in addition to that President and Prime Minister of Pakistan.
