An assistant sub-inspector of city traffic police was gunned down on Wednesday.
The firing incident took place in Malir area.
According to the police, the deceased ASI was identified as Zulfiqar. His body was shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Several traffic police personnel have been killed in a string of violent attacks in Karachi in recent days.
In a bid to quell the police, traffic constable were equipped with guns and bullet-proof jackets in sensitive areas of the city.
