Police on Wednesday resolved the blind murder of a 12-year-old girl Aniqa and arrested her father and brother for killing the girl.
Aniqa – student of 7th grade and a resident of Shad Bagh – was found dead near Mayo Hospital in Lahore a few days ago, following which police had kicked off investigations into the blind murder.
The CCTV footage obtained from hospital and nearby shops was sent to forensic lab as a result of which a suspect was identified.
The suspect was no one else but Aniqa’s own flesh and blood – her brother.
The father and brother of the deceased girl are currently in custody and being further interrogated.
Sources said that the ill-fated girl was subjected to brutal torture after failing to make proper Chapati (bread).
