Rangers get custody of MQM-linked ‘hit-man’ for 3 months

Associated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), alleged target-killer Rehan Hussain alias Bihari has been handed over to the paramilitary Rangers in preventive detention for 90 days.

Rangers officials told a local anti-terrorism court on Monday that the accused, arrested in a targeted action in Sarjani Town on Friday, confessed to having killing more than 50 people, including political activists and policemen.

According to the officials, the suspect used to be MQM’s Sarjani Town sector incharge and was running different target-killing teams in the area.

Rehan Hussain was allegedly involved in incidents of extortion, kidnapping for ransom, aerial firing, arson, forced fitrana collection, hides snatching, rioting, besides encroachment and China-cutting.

Meanwhile, the paramilitary force apprehended four suspects, including a gangster who was under treatment, in a raid on the Civil Hospital Karachi’s emergency ward.
