In view of the state of anxiety among the families whose loved ones are performing Haj this year and who haven’t heard from them, Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani asked government ministers to provide details to the senate regarding the issue.
“The unfortunate tragedy at Mina has become a source of concern and anxiety for the affected families in Pakistan,” he said in separate letters to Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf.
In the letters, Rabbani further said, “The Senate is in session on Monday October 5, 2015 at 3:00PM and it will be appreciated if a comprehensive statement on the said situation is made.”
