A newly-wed girl was killed by her in-laws for not bringing with her the desired dowry in Daska city’s Mughalpura neighbourhood on Monday.
Per police, 25-year-old Takreem was married to Imran Mughal three weeks ago, but soon after the marriage, her in-laws started quarrelling with her.
On the day of the incident, Takreem’s in-laws beat her up and forcibly poured acid in her throat. Neighbours took her to the Daska Civil Hospital, where she passed away. Doctors said she died due to acid.
Police are investigating the matter but no arrest was made until the filing of this report as the accused had fled after locking up their home.
