CS seeks line of action for S-III project

Sindh Chief Secretary (CS) Siddique Memon on Monday asked the Sindh Planning and Development Department to evolve a strategic line of action for implementation of the Karachi Greater S-III (Sewerage) Project, with the involvement of Karachi-based nation building departments, utility institutions and development agencies, including KPT, DHA and Cantonment boards.

Presiding over a review meeting of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) projects, Memon directed the Industries Department to approach the various industrialists’ associations of the metropolis to fulfill their commitment towards constructing the Combined Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) in their respective areas.

The chief secretary issued directives for submission of the PC-1 of the project within three days, and called a report on encroachment over the KWSB land by the coming Friday.

He also instructed the KWSB managing director to get the issues of water supply and sewerage resolved exigently.

Planning and Development Additional Chief Secretary Ayaz Ali Khan, Finance Secretary Sohail Rajput, KWSB MD Misbahuddin Fareed and the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) director general attended the meeting.
