Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif did not take a break during Eid days and remained busy discharging his official responsibilities.

The chief minister personally monitored security arrangements, hides’ collection operation and cleanliness arrangements from morning till late night over the three Eid days and remained in constant contact with the officials concerned.

Sharif, who offered Eid prayer at Raiwaind, prayed for progress and prosperity of the country. He also prayed for the pilgrims who lost their lives and those wounded in the tragic incident in Mina, Saudi Arabia.

After exchanging Eid greetings with people, Sharif met with office-bearers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. Also, he issued instructions to his cabinet committee on law and order to ensure foolproof security arrangements across the province and strict implementation of the strategy evolved about collection of hides of sacrificial animals.

The chief minister also ordered the authorities concerned to make effective arrangements for cleanliness in the province including Lahore.

Sharif expressed sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of Asad Murtaza Gillani, nephew of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani, and other Pakistani pilgrims in the Mina tragedy.

Expressing sympathies with the bereaved families, he said the death of the pilgrims was tragic for every Pakistani. He also prayed for early recovery of those injured.
