Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday dismissed an appeal to halt the government from using its machinery in by-polls.
The petition was submitted by Pakistan Awami Tehreek. The petitioner’s lawyer said that the government is influencing the polls by using its machinery therefore it should be impeded from the utilization.
Justice Aijaz-ul-Hassan remarked that Election Commission has the authority to take action against this step of government whereas the court cannot obstruct them from the usage.
The court while directing the petitioner to approach the EC in the matter dismissed the plea.
