Eidul Azha celebrated across the country

Eidul-Azha was celebrated on Friday all across the country with great zeal and fervour in commemoration of the sacrifice offered by Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) and his son Hazrat Ismail (A.S) in fulfillment of the divine order.

Special prayers were offered for the prosperity of the country and for unity among the Muslim Ummah with special dua for the martyrs who died in Minah stampede.

After the Eid prayers, the faithful offered sacrifices of animals in accordance with the Sunnah-e-Ibrahimi. In Islamabad, the main Eid congregation was held at Faisal Masjid where diplomats of various countries, government officials and people from all walks of life offered Eid prayers.

In Lahore, the main Eid congregation was held at Badshahi Mosque where a large number of people offered Eid prayer, which was led by Khateeb Maulana Abdul Kabir Azad.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz offered Eidul Azha prayers at Jati Umra, Raiwind.

In Karachi, Eidul Azha was celebrated with religious fervor and the faithful offered Eid prayer at more than 2,000 Eidgahs, mosques, Imambargahs, parks and open places in the city.

President Mamnoon Hussain offered Eid-ul-Azha prayer at State Guest House in Karachi.

The main Eid congregation in the metropolis was held at the Old Polo Ground where Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan offered prayer. Special prayers were offered for the peace, progress and prosperity of the country. After Namaz, the faithful slaughtered animals in commemoration of the sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S).

In Rawalpindi, main Eid congregation was held in Jamia Masjid while people from all walks of life offered Eid prayers in different mosques and sacrificed animals to commemorate the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S). Eidul Azha congregations were held in various mosques in Peshawar including in Eidgah where renowned religious scholar Professor Ghafoor Ahmad delivered sermon. Faithful on this occasion prayed for the welfare of the country and for security and prosperity of the nation. Temporarily displaced persons who are now sheltering at Jalozia camp in Nowshera district offered prayers in the camp.

In Quetta, more than three hundred Eid congregations were held in open places, parks, mosques, Imam Bargahs and Eidgahs. The main Eid congregation was held at Eidgah Toghi Road.

Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch offered Eid prayer in Quetta.

Eid congregations were also held at mosques, Eidgahs, Imam Bargahs and open places in all cities, towns, and villages of Azad Kashmir.

Main Eid congregation was held at Markazi Eidgah in Muzaffarabad.

In Gilgit, the main Eid congregations were held at Jutial, Konodas Eidgahs and Shah Karim Hostel.

The faithful across the country, after offering Eid prayers in various Eidghas and Masajid held special prayers for the success of operation Zarb-e-Azb and integrity and solidarity of Pakistan.
