20 suspects arrested as violence kills one

Police rounded up 20 more suspects in raids during the ongoing targeted operation, as street crimes and violence continued in Karachi on Thursday claiming the life a woman.

Reportedly, two most wanted criminals were arrested following a brief encounter with a police team in Ittehad Town. Weapons were also seized.

According to police officials, the criminals, Omer Iqbal and Madada Ali, were affiliated with a political party. They said the suspects, who attacked the police team and damaged the police mobile partially, surrendered after they sustained gunshot wounds in the ensuing shootout.

Separately, a heavy contingent of police arrested 20 suspects in a house-to-house search operation in PNT Colony and Lower Gizri areas late on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, a woman was shot dead by unidentified attackers in Model Colony. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained until the filing of this report.
