An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi on Wednesday remanded two alleged target-killers into Rangers custody on a 90-day remand.
A spokesman for the paramilitary force said that both the accused hit-men – Shakeel Baba and Shaikh Ilyas aka Sheru – are affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). Accused Shakeel belongs to Unit 173/A North Nazimabad and Sheru to Unit 32/A Lyari sector of MQM, he said. According to Rangers spokesman, the accused have confessed to killing 46 people on political and sectarian grounds. Sheru has confessing to killing DSP Nawaz Ranjha and two Rangers officers.
