The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has rejected the reports regarding favour or victimisation in its action against culprits involved in various cases.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the NAB clarified that a section of media had published/aired a news item carrying the grievances of Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood Khan regarding the proceedings against him.
It added that Mashhood’s letter to the NAB chairman was also being processed in accordance with the law and SOPs.
In the statement the NAB further said it wished to assert that any proceedings against anybody were conducted strictly in accordance with the law, with utmost objectivity and without any consideration of fear or favor.
A person alleged to have committed a cognizable offence is provided ample opportunity of defense and hearing before appropriate forum, the statement detailed.
The NAB reiterated that all inquiries were conducted by a combined investigation team (CIT) of investigation officers, prosecutors and senior supervisory officers so there was no possibility of any individual influencing the conduct or outcome of the proceedings.
