CDA digs 30-feet deep ditches to get rid of sacrificial waste

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) said on Wednesday that it has dugout 30 deep ditches at 18 different locations in the capital to dispose of waste from sacrificial animals on Eid-ul-Azha.

Talking to APP, CDA Environment Member Syed Mustafain Kazmi said that sanitation workers would be equipped with more than 100 vehicles, tractors and trolleys, compactors, trucks and dumpers.

He said that animal waste will be disposed of scientifically in line with the required hygienic standards.

On the special direction of the CDA chairman, the sanitation department of the civic body would deploy its staff on all three days during Eid-ul- Azha, he said.

While leaves of the employees of the sanitation department have also been cancelled to ensure cleanliness of the capital, Kazmi said.

Kazmi said that Federal Capital has been divided into four zones where in Zone-1, the areas included F-6, F-7, F-8, Blue Area and Bari Imam while zone-II comprises Faisal Mosque and G-8 sector. Similarly, F-10, F-11, Golra Sharif, G-9, G-10, G-11 and G-13 have been included in zone-III, whereas zone-IV includes sector H-8, H-9, H-10, H-11, I-8, I-9, I-10/2,I-11, Highway, model villages Humak, Shehzad Town, Rawal Town and Margalla Town.
