Punjab CM’s Adviser on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique was pelted with rotten eggs at the Shaikh Zayed Hospital on Monday when the hospital staff was demonstrating against the planned privatisation of the hospital.
While protesting, the agitating employees received information that Rafique was present at the auditorium. They tried to force their way into the venue but security personnel locked the gates.
As the ceremony concluded and Rafique got out of the auditorium, some employees started pelting eggs on him. Rafique did not take offence, however.
The protesting workers dispersed after they were assured that their demands over the proposed privatisation would be considered.
