A local TV reporter, who shot to fame after a video clip of his years-old botched reporting went viral and subsequent featuring of his character in a blockbuster Bollywood movie Bajrangi Bhaijan, was beaten up along with his crew at the Karachi Cantt Station on Tuesday.
Currently working for 92 News Channel as a reporter, Chand Nawab made it to the Cantt Station with his team to cover an assignment related to departure of trains at the station.
He also was reportedly covering scalping of train tickets when the railway officials and police allegedly beaten him up and his team members, including DSNG driver and engineers.
The channel admin said that Sindh Minister Nisar Khuhro had taken notice of the incident and ordered inquiry into it. Though, it could not ascertained whether the reporter overstepped his domain in covering the assignment.
The channel administration said it had brought the incident into notice of Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique.
