The local traders have been increasing prices of vegetables and fruits manifold every day ahead of Eidul Azha in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Local administration has failed to rearrange Sunday Bazaar in Rawal Town, Potohar Town and Cantonment areas of Rawalpindi. The vegetable sellers have organized bazaar by themselves and have started to mount prices at an alarming level before Eid in markets.

All traders and dealers at vegetables markets have started making fortune by constantly increasing prices of all necessary items including tomato, lemon, onions, ginger etc.
Similarly prices were higher in Islamabad’s Sunday Bazars.

Though the retailers said they are gettingthe supplies at higher rates, but they too are making lot of money in connivance with those responsible to keep a check.

At the fruit and vegetable market in Islamabad, loaded trucks were seen in large number on Monday but the wholesalers said the supplies have dried up and whatever is being supplied is being done at higher rates and they have no alternative but to increase the rates.
People at the wholesale market said that on the eve of every Eid, prices go up as the administration deliberately avoid taking any action.
The irked residents have demanded the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take immediate notice of the prices and order the administration to bring them back at the level of last week.
