Rapidly acting on an information about the presence of a gang of notorious bandits, Shikarpur police conducted a search operation in the villages belonging to Dahani community near Madeji on Monday morning where an encounter took place in which three criminals were killed.
They include two notorious bandits, Rashid Rind and Aman alias Amano Tunio and the nephew of Rasheed Rind named Javed Rind. However, one cop was martyred named Shamsuddin Jatoi and another injured namely Wasim Mirani.
The injured constable was rushed to emergency department of the ChandkaMedicalCollegeHospital where he was shifted to an operation theater. Both the killed accused were carrying head money of rupees one million each. Amano Tunio was involved in killing of Rangers DSR Abdul Jabbar Abbasi and others. Likewise, Rasheed Rind was a hardened criminal who was heading several gangs involved in looting, robberies, murders, car and motorcycle snatching and other heinous crimes.
On hearing the news, DIG Police Larkana Range Dr Saeen Rakhiyo Mirani reached at the spot. He said the encounter took place in village Rahmatullah Dahani where these criminals were hiding.
SSP Shikarpur Nasir Aftab told media that Rashid Rind was wanted in kidnapping of three judges and was wanted in more than 50 criminal cases of Shikarpur, Larkana, Khairpur, Jacobabad and other districts in kidnapping for ransom, murder, robberies etc.
He said Rind was an associate of Nazroo Narejo and was now working with the gang of notorious dacoit, Pathoo Narejo. He said a network of these bandits had been eliminated which used to kidnap people from Sindh and get huge ransom for their release. He said weapons and bullets had been recovered, adding the search operation continued for whole day.
