Sub-inspector Ishtiaq Awan was gunned down in the limits of Makki Shah Police Station on Monday.
The killed police official was the eye-witness in murder case of sub-inspector Manoj Kumar in 2010. Criminal involved in Kumar’s killing, Tahir Minhas, also played role in Safoora Goth incident. According to police sources, the sub-inspector was going for his duty in the area when some unidentified armed men opened fire at him, killing him on the spot.
CM TAKES NOTICE OF COP’S KILLING
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has taken serious notice of killing of a Sub-Inspector of Sindh Police, Ishtiaq Ahmed, in firing by motorcyclist on Monday at Mumtaz Colony, Hyderabad, while the victim was leaving for Tando Muhammad Khan for duty where he was posted.
Soon the news was aired by electronic media, the chief minister telephoned IGP and directed him for conducting inquiry into the incident and arrest the culprits without any delay.
The chief minister also offered condolence to the bereaved family and assured to pay them compensation, says a statement issued by the CM House on Monday.
He was of the view that such cowardly incidents could not lower the morale of the personnel of the Sindh police. He said that war against terrorists would continue till taking it to its logical conclusion.
Qaim Ali Shah maintained that Sindh would be terrorist-free and crime-free province of Pakistan in future which was the commitment of PPP government.
He also lauded the big achievements of police and Rangers that they made in war against terrorism to eliminate terrorists, kidnapers, target killers and extortionist specially in Karachi.
