The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration yesterday sealed more restaurants and sweet shops in the city as the campaign against impure food continues.
Assistant Commissioner Kamran Cheema visited Melody Food Market and sealed five restaurants including Savor, Jehangir BBQ and Dhaka Fish over use of substandard ingredients and improper hygiene condition.
KFC, Hardees, Fresco Sweets and Regalia Hotel were also among the food outlets which were visited and fined by the local administration, officials said.
Some of the restaurants were sealed off on account of their failure to maintain hygiene while the others faced the wrath of local administration for serving recycled food to visitors.
A few of the eateries were also found to be an open field for rats and insects.
The raids were conducted on restaurants and hotels located in G-6, F-7 and F-9 and Melody Food Park areas of the federal capital.
Separately, in crackdown against quackery in the city, three fake doctors were also arrested while seven fled away from the scene in Golra/ Mehrabadi area of Islamabad.
The medical facilities which were raided included Sobia Dawa Khana Golra, City Hospital Golra, Saeed Welfare Hospital Golra, Alibaba Medical store Golra, Shah G Medical Centre Mehrabadi (1Arrested), Al Jadoon Shah G Hospital Mehrabadi, Children Hospital Mehrabadi, Bacha Clinic Mehrabadi, Wahab Clinic Mehrabadi, Jadoon Medical Centre Mehrabadi, Al-Shifa Clinic Mehrabadi, and Zaman Clinic Golra.
The raids were jointly carried out by teams of ADC (G) and ACs (Sectt, Rural & Saddar).
