Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Malik Abdul Qayyum said Sunday this year’s International Day of Peace comes at a time when the armed forces are making all-out efforts to create space for lasting peace in the country and the region, contributing to the world peace.
Condemning the Badaber airbase attack in Peshawar, the former minister said it was primarily aimed at the mosque inside the camp and was indeed the biggest attack after the one on the Army Public School in December last year.
The PTI leader, who was addressing a workers meeting in Wapda Town, further said the whole nation, with a firm resolve, was standing like a rock behind the armed forces.
“Our soldiers are giving their lives to save ours and a new history of heroic deeds, bravery, unprecedented sacrifices and excellence of professional competence is being written,” he added, according to a press release.
Qayyum said today the whole world acknowledged that the people of Pakistan and its law enforcement agencies had suffered at the hands of terrorists and extremists more than any other country.
“We have created complete harmony in our united determination to fight these terrorist, extremist and target killers including their friends, facilitators and financers till their end,” concluded the PTI leader.
