More food outlets face closure, fines

Teams of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued haunting restaurants and food outlets selling substandard food and having unhygienic conditions on Saturday.

In Data Ganj Bakhsh Town, a PFA team, headed by Director Operations Ayesha Mumtaz, sealed production units of Unique Bakers and Madni Bakers on Outfall Road for operating in unhygienic conditions. Samples of food products from Unique Bakers were also sent for laboratory tests after the registration of an FIR.

Similarly, Yasir Broast Grill and Gravy restaurant near Hussain Chowk in Gulberg Town was sealed for operating without medical certificates and due to open drainage system. The same team sealed Yasir Broast in Faisal Town owing to unhygienic conditions and working without a food licence. Besides, heavy fines were imposed on KPK Grill and Restaurant in Faisal Town and City Hall in Samanabad area for poor hygienic conditions.

In Wapda Town, Al Madina Milk Shop was sealed for absence of any medical certificates and working under unhygienic conditions.
