A production line at the plant of Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited (CCBPL) in Rahim Yar Khan that the district administration closed on Sunday has been unsealed, media reports said on Saturday.
According to reports, Assistant Commissioner Dr Javed Ahmed said that the line was unsealed on Thursday after the CCBPL administration undertook to follow the standard procedure to ensure good hygiene at the workplace. The administration indicated that it would keep a close watch on the plant.
The production line was closed as it was sealed a few days ago after the DCO office received a complaint from a local shopkeeper alleging foreign matter in a one litre bottle of Sprite.
In a statement, the CCBPL has appreciated the action of the district administration in unsealing the production line.
“The unsealing of the production line was done after testing established that Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited adhere by the highest quality and safety standards,” the statement read.
“…the company has assured its full support to the district administration in handling any future complaints with the bigger objective of bringing to justice illegal producers of spurious and counterfeit beverage products, who often use the empty bottles of multinational beverage companies to sell their fake products… all of our bottling plants adhere to the highest worldwide quality standards in addition to local laws.”
