Making key confessions, a target killer apprehended from Liaquatabad area on Friday said the unit office used to provide them with weapons, while the unit incharge used to give instructions.
During the investigation, Abid confessed to having killed as many as six policemen. He said another seven members of his group were involved in targeted killings, while two others had been imprisoned in the recent past.
Meanwhile, police apprehended a fake sub-inspector and seized police uniforms, explosives, grenades and extortion chits. His three accomplices managed to escape, however.
According to the superintendent of police (SP) for Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, the culprit, Shahzad Raza, confessed he had hand in targeted killings and extortion incidents.
Also the senior superintendent of police (SSP) for Karachi East said computers and advanced gadgets were seized from the culprit’s residence. According to him, Raza had links with militants.
