Murder convicts of Balochistan’s former minister handed life imprisonment

A local court in Karachi on Saturday sentenced three convicts to life imprisonment in murder of Balochistan’s former provincial minister Mir Rustam.

The sentence was announced by Additional Judicial Magistrate East. During the hearing, the court announced the life imprisonment sentence against the three convicts. Two of the accused in the case were acquitted over benefit of doubt. The convicted suspects Hayat Shah, Habibullah and Taj Muhammad along with their companions killed the former minister in Gulshan Iqbal area of Karachi on August 6, 2009. Meanwhile, an ATC sentenced a convict Bostan Khan for 34 years in life imprisonment over police shootout, explosive material and illegal weapons. The convict was arrested from Sohrab Goth in January.
