PFA raids: Over dozen food outlets sealed, two arrested

In the ongoing crackdown on restaurants and eateries offering substandard food items and operating in poor hygienic conditions, teams of the Punjab Food Authority on Thursday made two arrests, sealed a number of food outlets and imposed fines on them.

In Data Ganj Bakhsh Town, PFA Director (Operations) Ayesha Mumtaz sealed Qasim Nehari, Nasim Butt Sirri Paye, Sayen Sweets, Big Man Pizza and Al-Khair Haleem over poor hygiene and non-availability of medical certificates.

Similarly, Nadeem Buffet in Faisal Town, Hotel Crown Plaza on Canal Bank Road near Dharampura, a godown of Gloria Jeans in Gulberg, Cock & Bull, Akram Shawarma, Kashmir Bakers and Daily Mart were sealed by the food inspecting teams for using expired items and working without licences.

In Shalimar Town, a milk shop and a catering unit located on College Road were sealed for operating without licences.

In Ravi Town, the food inspectors re-sealed Akbar Khan Tea Store which was opened without permission. Two arrests were made and an FIR was also lodged.
