‘PM’s going nowhere as long as parliament, democracy exist’

Leader of Opposition in National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah, said on Wednesday that as long as the Parliament and democracy exist no one can remove Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Addressing an event here, Khursheed Shah was responding to the prime minister’s concerns regarding the latter’s belief that ‘some people are trying to de-seat him.’

Shah said that although the PM’s belief is ‘quite possible’, it cannot happen with the co-existence of Parliament and democracy. Khursheed Shah went on to say that to curb the menace of corruption actions taken should be indiscriminate.

Trying to address the issue of the roots of terrorism, he said that investigations should be carried out to identify when and where terrorism and corruption originate, adding that this was why Operation Zarb-e-Azab and other such initiatives are needed.

Khursheed Shah further said if the nation appreciates the actions of the country’s armed forces, then politicians should be pleased with it.
