NAB begins probe against Punjab Minister Rana Mashhood

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab on Thursday initiated an enquiry into the corruption charges against Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood.

According to NAB Punjab Director General Syed Burhanuddin, there are several allegations of corruption against the minister, including irregularities in the Punjab Youth Festival.

In August 2014, a video of Mashhood surfaced in which he was shown demanding gratification from Asim Malik, a ‘visa consultant’ accused of defrauding millions of rupees from several citizens.

The NAB started collecting evidence into the video scandal and decided to launch a formal probe after the proof pertaining to the case was found.
