The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking minor changes in the schedule of local government elections in the federal capital.

ECP said that the elections would be held on October 30, adding that delimitation of constituencies was necessary as many voters would be deprived from their rights to vote if this was not done.

ECP said the process of delimitation of constituencies would be completed on October 13. Afterwards process of making new voters lists would be started. ECP prayed to the court to give it permission to make changes in the dates of receiving of nomination papers, verification and issuance of final lists.

ECP made Islamabad administration and the federal government parties in the application.
